Stephen Heppell – Teaching and Learning in the Online World
When: Wednesday 12 November at 2.30pm.
Who: Stephen Heppell, CEO - Heppell.net, Chair – New Media Environments, Bournemouth University, UK
Where: Online in Elluminate. This session was recorded. Click here to listen to the recording.
Teachers are rapidly evolving their practice in online environments. Online tools, spaces and communities are becoming routine vehicles for teaching and learning and teachers are increasingly sophisticated in their use of them. But some concerns linger. How has online technology changed & how will it continue to change the world in which we live and work? What do these changes mean for the future life and work of our young people? How do we capture the practice of our frontrunners in the online teaching world and enable all teachers to use it? What skills do students (and teachers) need in order to be safe in these online worlds? How do we maintain academic rigour and show that real learning is taking place? What is 21st century assessment and what can it tell us that we’ve never known before? These and other questions were discussed with Stephen Heppell.

Hi,
I have been interested in several of the sessions you have advertised, but I still haven’t been able to sit in or participate in any of the sessions, due to timing or forgetting or computer access problems. Is it possible to click into a summery after the session?
I have signed in for the next Walk in Tuesday and will work towards participating in this session. Do I need to get a head phone or camera for these sessions too?
Thanks for listening to me
faithfully
sandra
